The Electoral Commission (EC) has updated the 2024 presidential election results, adding returns from eight more constituencies, with one still pending.
This revision updates the initial announcement made on December 9, 2024, which had covered results from 267 out of 276 constituencies. The new tally includes the total valid votes, rejected ballots, and overall votes cast.
President John Dramani Mahama has successfully retained his position, securing a decisive victory over his main rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,877,611 votes.
Among other parties, Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Cheddar, made a notable impact by winning 88,944 votes, or 0.76% of the total votes cast, representing The New Force movement.
