EC Updates Ballot Statistics,Adds Booklets For 20 Polling Stations

Written by Sarah Boye

The Electoral Commission (EC) has updated ballot statistics for the 2024 general elections, affecting 20 polling stations where adjustments in ballot paper distribution require additional ballot booklets.

In a press release, the EC highlighted that transparency and collaboration were central to this revision.

Thus, District Registration Review Officers (DRROs) and High Court rulings, which addressed discrepancies in the voter registration process, informed these adjustments.

Moreover, the re-exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register also guided the revisions, allowing citizens and political parties to verify voter information and flag inaccuracies that could impact election day.

“The Electoral Commission announces for the information of the general public that, following the implementation of the decisions of the District Registration Review Officers (DRROs) and the High Courts, as well as the revisions made after the re-exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register, there have been slight revisions to the 2024 ballot statistics submitted to the political parties and the printing firms. The polling stations for which printing of additional ballot booklets is to sum up to twenty (20).” The statement Read

This update reflects the EC’s dedication to refining electoral processes based on recent rulings and feedback from the re-exhibition of the 2024 Provisional Voters Register.
