The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has assured the public that it has fully resolved all issues with the 2024 Provisional Voter Register after a two-week review.
During a live broadcast at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the EC confirmed that it had corrected all identified anomalies to protect the integrity of the electoral roll and maintain public trust in the process.
EC Chairperson Jean Mensa emphasised the Commission’s diligent efforts to fix errors, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity, all aimed at delivering an accurate register for the 2024 general elections.
“We have spent the last two weeks cleaning the voter register to ensure accuracy. The EC has included every applicant who registered in 2023/2024.Further, from October 15 to 19, registered voters will be able to review their details online and report any discrepancies to district offices.
Moreover, Jean also assured political parties that they would receive hard copies of the voter register, along with a template to record any additional concerns.
This move follows concerns raised by political parties which had called for a forensic audit of the register due to doubts over its initial accuracy.
