EC Begins Ballot Paper Distribution Ahead Of December 7

Written by Sarah Boye

The Electoral Commission (EC) will commence the nationwide distribution of ballot papers on Thursday, November 14, as part of preparations for the December 7 elections.

In a letter dated November 13, the EC outlined the distribution schedule to political party general secretaries.

The letter indicates the process begins in the Greater Accra Region on November 14, followed by the Central, Western, Savannah, and Upper West Regions on Friday, November 15.

Further, on Saturday, November 16, ballot papers will be dispatch to the Ashanti, Ahafo, and Western North Regions.

Moreover, to uphold the integrity of the elections, the EC has implemented stringent security measures to prevent tampering or unauthorised access.

Thus, ballot papers will be securely reserve at police facilities in each region until election day. Again, on the day of voting, officials will transfer the papers to polling stations in the presence of party representatives to ensure transparency.

These efforts form part of the EC’s broader preparations, which have included finalising voter registration, assigning polling stations, and training election officers.
