The Electoral Commission (EC) has annulled the parliamentary results for Dome Kwabenya, Okaikwei Central, and Ablekuma North due to procedural violations and threats to its staff during the collation process.
At a press conference in Accra on Thursday, December 19, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa explained the irregularities behind this decision.
She disclose that the results for Okaikwei Central and Ablekuma North were announce without proper collation, leading to significant omissions. Specifically, the results from 31 polling stations in Okaikwei Central were debar, and results from 62 polling stations in Ablekuma North were not involve.
“In Okaikwei Central, the winner was mention without collating results from 31 polling stations. Similarly, in Ablekuma North, a winner was announce without the results from 62 polling stations,”This is unacceptable.The Commission considers the declarations illegal because they were made under duress.Any similar declarations in other constituencies will not be endorse .” She said
Of the 12 constituencies flagged for re-collation, the EC has successfully completed the process for Suhum, Akwatia, and Fanteakwa North. However, the results for Okaikwei Central and Ablekuma North remain unresolved because of the procedural irregularities.

Thus, the decision to move collation activities to the Police Training School sparked disputes over the aggregation and transmission of results.
