The running mate of the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has resigned from his position as Energy Minister.
In a press statement, Dr Opoku Prempeh announced his resignation to allow him fully dedicate himself to his new role as the running mate to the NPP’s presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Following this development, the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, conveyed the President’s deep gratitude for Dr Opoku Prempeh’s unwavering service to the government and the people of Ghana.
Further, President Akufo-Addo has appointed the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, MP for Damongo, Hon Abu Jinapor, to oversee the Ministry of Energy and the Minister-of-State-designate at the Ministry of Energy, Herbert Krapa, will handle the day-to-day administration.
The President has instructed both officials to work closely with Dr. Opoku Prempeh to ensure a smooth transition at the Ministry.
