Ghana’s Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has vowed to support churches and faith-based organisations in their development initiatives.
During a visit to the Amasaman Constituency, Dr Bawumia spoke with Catholic church leaders, underscoring the vital role that churches and faith-based organisations have played in the nation’s growth. He remarked,
“Churches and faith-based organisations have been crucial to Ghana’s progress,” recognising their historical impact.
Dr Bawumia praised churches for their contributions to essential services and revealed plans to officially designate them as development partners.
He added,
“The schools and hospitals established by churches have greatly advanced Ghana. This designation will provide tax exemptions on imported materials and equipment for your projects.”
He assured religious leaders that these tax benefits would be granted automatically, simplifying the process and acknowledging their role as development partners.
