Gospel artist Diana Hamilton has officially opened a new five-unit classroom block at Dodo-Tamale Basic School in the Kadjebi District, Oti Region.
Diana, known for her inspiring music and philanthropy, took action to address the school’s urgent needs after a viral video highlighted them.
The project began with a sod-cutting ceremony in January 2022, and construction continued for nearly three years, culminating in the completion of the new facility in December 2024.
Built in partnership with the Adom Group of Companies, the school now features five fully furnished classrooms, an administrative office, and furniture for all the classrooms.
In recognition of her significant contribution to the community, the chiefs and people of Dodo-Tamale enstooled Diana as Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen Mother), giving her the stool name Nana Hemaa Adwoa Amponsah I.
This development follows a 2023 report by Adom News’ Obrempongba Owusu, which exposed the school’s overcrowded classrooms and lack of proper facilities.
