The 2024 Assin South Teaching and Non-Teaching Best Teacher Awards has celebrated 28 outstanding educators and staff for their dedication and contributions to education.
Member of Parliament for Assin South and Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour sponsored the event to recognise excellence and inspire commitment in the teaching profession.
The ceremony’s highlight was the presentation of a brand-new personal vehicle to Sir Paul Afoakwa of Assin Manso Senior High School, who emerged as the overall Best Teacher.
The first and second runners-up also received valuable prizes, including a set of furniture, a motorcycle, and other tokens of appreciation, acknowledging their efforts to improve education in the district.
Further, National GNAT President Rev. Owusu praised the initiative, emphasising the importance of honouring both teaching and non-teaching staff. He called on other leaders to adopt similar gestures to motivate educators across the country.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including Central Regional Education Director Mr. Essuman and staff from the Assin South Education Directorate, to celebrate the awardees and highlight the transformative power of leadership and service in education.
