The first amphitheater in Kumasi is now under construction thanks to the sod-cutting by Mr. Mark Okuraku-Mark, the deputy minister of tourism and culture.
This is to carry out the pledge made in the NPP manifesto to construct five (5) amphitheaters this year, two (2) each in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, and Tamale.
These amphitheaters are built to host performances and other forms of entertainment, to assist industry participants in planning their events, and to provide jobs that will help the industry’s economy.
MarK okraku Mantey cut the sod on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in the presence of Kwadwo Antwi CEO (GTDC), Kumasi Mayor Mr. Samuel Pyne, Nana Sarfo Kantanka (Project Coordinator) of MoTAC, and Executive Secretary NFA Juliet Asante.
“Good to see you all here…This is the day the most high has made, finally, we are on the soil ,we are on the grounds to start the project so we are here to do the first digging so it can be put on record that the project has started”.
The Deputy Minister tasked the contractors to ensure that there is value for money, as well as ensure strict adherence to completion timelines.
