The Board Chairman of ADB Bank and Kwahumanhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, has resigned from his position.

A press release on the Ghana Stock Exchange’s website announced,

“ADB informs the general investing public of the resignation of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Bank, effective October 11, 2024.”

The resignation comes after the Bank of Ghana highlighted a recent petition submitted to the Presidency by Collins Darkwah Aboagye, alleging misconduct by the Board Chair.

The petition accused him of improper conduct related to a 2-million-cedi transaction, citing potential conflicts of interest, financial mismanagement, and other actions that may have compromised the duties expected of someone in such a high-ranking position.

This development follows a directive from the Bank of Ghana for Agyapong II to resign.
