The Convention People’s Party has issued a strong demand for the immediate removal of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh from all government and political positions, following his controversial remarks about Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
In a press statement, the CPP emphasised the monumental contributions of Dr Kwame Nkrumah to Ghana and Africa. Thus, any questioning of his legacy is both disrespectful.
The party pointed out that Dr. Prempeh disregarded this counsel and instead resorted to using offensive language against Dr. Nkrumah.
With this, the CPP has demanded that Dr. Prempeh resign from all his government and political positions and issue a public apology within 24 hours.
Further, they also urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to remove Dr Opoku Prempeh from his ministerial and vice-presidential candidature roles if he fails to comply.
In addition, the CPP warn of potential protests from Ghanaians and Nkrumahists worldwide.
