The Accra High Court has dismissed Deborah Seyram Adablah’s claim against Ernest Kwasi Nimako, the former Chief Finance Officer of a bank.
The court, presided over by Justice John Bosco Nabarese, decided that even though Adablah and Nimako’s connection was deemed immoral, her filed writ did not present a viable cause of action.
In its ruling, the court stated that “you cannot recover the price of something you have committed into an immoral act,” indicating that it was reluctant to grant judicial permission on the basis of their connection. GH¢10,000 has been imposed on Adablah as a result of the termination.
This ruling is in response to Nimako’s request that the court dismiss Adablah’s case. Adablah claimed in her January 2023 complaint that Nimako had made her promises about a car, three years of housing, monthly stipends, marriage following his wife’s divorce, and a one-time payment for a company. But the court denied her arguments, which resulted in the lawsuit being dropped and the cost order being issued.
