The Land Division of the High Court in Accra has issued an interim injunction in favour of Labadi Beach Hotel, blocking Spartan Ives Limited, operators of Polo Beach Club, from encroaching on the hotel’s property.
Hotel Investments (Ghana) Limited, the hotel’s owner, filed legal action to reclaim the disputed land. The court’s ruling bars Spartan Ives Limited and its affiliates from:
1. Trespassing on 0.54 acres of the hotel’s property, including using it for parking, pathways, or events.
2. Operating Polo Beach Club or hosting events on the hotel’s land or adjacent restricted areas.
3. Using the beachfront next to the hotel, in violation of a lease agreement dated November 27, 1990.
The injunction is set to last for 10 days, and the court has warned of contempt charges if the defendants fail to comply.
