The Chief of Nsawam has honoured Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with the title of Nana “Ntentankesehene,” Chief of the Internet.

During a campaign event, the traditional leaders bestowed upon him this title, recognising his pivotal role in driving Ghana’s digital transformation, particularly through his efforts to expand internet access and digital services nationwide.

In his speech, he highlighted the progress made under his leadership, noting that internet coverage increased from 32% when the NPP took office to 73% today.

Further, he emphasised the crucial role of internet access in driving economic development and modernisation, arguing that universal coverage would significantly enhance digital inclusion and connectivity for all Ghanaians.

Currently on a campaign tour in the Eastern Region as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Bawumia has vowed to achieve 100% internet coverage across Ghana if elected in the 2024 general elections.

This commitment to full internet coverage forms a key part of his campaign, underscoring his dedication to leveraging digital technology for national growth.
