In a culinary achievement that has garnered national attention, Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak officially finished her effort on Wednesday, January 10, to break the longest solo cooking record in the Guinness World Records.
With a time of 227 hours, she has now unofficially claimed the title of longest cooking marathon (person). The current record, which stands at 119 hours and 57 minutes, was set in 2023 by Alan Fisher from Ireland.
Supporters and spectators flocked to Tamale’s Modern City Hotel to see this incredible achievement during the marathon.
She had originally intended to cook from January 1 to 5, but due to a similar 144-hour attempt by Ugandan chef Mama D, she had to extend her endeavour to ten days.
