Renowned gospel musician Ceccy Twum described the difficult living conditions many Ghanaians endure as “hell” due to systemic failures.
In a recent interview, she acknowledged that while the world grapples with challenges, the situation in Ghana stands out as particularly dire.
Ceccy Twum emphasise that without an effective system to support its citizens, individuals are force to struggle for survival, jeopardising their families’ well-being.
“The world is not easy right now. It takes extra effort to succeed; otherwise, your family will suffer, and you will fall behind. A functioning system could alleviate poverty and hardship, but in a country without such a system, you must fend for yourself,” she explained.
Reflecting on her first visit to the UK, Twum shared her emotional response to the well-organised and disciplined public transport system there.
“The bus system and the regulations are well manage. I wish Ghana could tap into its natural resources to drive development instead of continually relying on loans,” she remarked.
Further, she urged for better management of Ghana’s natural resources to foster development and progress, stressing that the current situation is stifling the country’s potential.
