Ghanaian musician Camidoh has emphasizes the critical need for substantial investment in high-quality music production.
In a recent interview, Camidoh points out that local industry stakeholders often invest less in their craft compared to their Nigerian counterparts, whose vibrant music scene has garnered attention. He notes that Ghanaian investors frequently hesitate to support artists, music videos, and marketing initiatives.
“In Nigeria, the budget for a music video is significant; one video could finance an entire Ghanaian film,” he states.
Further, while he acknowledges the growth of the local music scene, he insists that adopting successful strategies from Nigeria could significantly accelerate its development since he believes that Nigerian investors recognize the potential and profitability of the music sector, a mindset that seems absent in Ghana.
