Buipewura Elected Vice President Of National House Of Chiefs

The National House of Chiefs has elected Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, the Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area, as its Vice President.

In an election held on Friday, November 22, 2024, in Kumasi, Buipewura Jinapor won 52 votes, defeating three other candidates for the position.

Reports indicate that Nana Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi II has been choose again as President of the National House of Chiefs for a second term, securing 42 votes and defeating the Chief of Dormaa, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, who received 30 votes.

The House of Chiefs paused briefly to address the legal concerns before proceeding with the election, which ended in decisive victories for both the President and Vice President.
