Boomplay, a digital streaming company, has crowned Ghanaian musician Black Sherif the most streamed artist for 2023.
For the second year in a row, the 21-year-old singer/rapper is keeping the lights on with his incredible run in 2023. He dropped a trifecta to start the year off, including his double single “Oh No,” another masterpiece that is dominating charts on digital streaming platforms and featuring the songs “YAYA” and “SIMMER DOWN.”
Black Sherif has established himself as one of Africa’s most potent creative voices since the release of his debut album, The Villain I Never Was, last year. He has also racked up enormous global streaming figures, making him the most-streamed Ghanaian artist of 2022 on Spotify and the most-streamed Ghanaian artist of all time on Boomplay, a well-known African streaming platform.
Black Sherif, a key component of the new sound coming out of Africa, has achieved these heights in record time. The rapper is set to do his annual concert on December 21, dubbed ‘Zaama Disco, which attracts revelers and his fans from across the globe to converge in Accra for a night of true musical experience.
