Black Stars coach Otto Addo believes his team should have won their match against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday.
Speaking at a post-match press conference, Addo expressed his frustration, saying, “We created plenty of chances, but that’s football. Sometimes it’s really tough. The loss to Niger and the last-minute goal against Angola still sting, and today feels the same. We played well, but the result didn’t reflect it, and that’s what counts in football.”
Despite the disappointment, Addo remained hopeful, stating, “We deserved the win but didn’t get it. We’ll stay positive and aim to beat them in the away match with the same energy, passion, and creativity in attack.”
In the first leg of the Group F doubleheader, Ghana dominated the game but failed to capitalise on their opportunities, leading to a 0-0 draw against Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan. The result leaves the four-time African champions in third place with just two points, putting their qualification hopes at risk.
Sudan now sits second in Group F with four points, two behind group leaders Angola.
