The Black Queens of Ghana will face either Rwanda and Egypt in the qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Reports indicate a total of 38 African nations will compete for one of the 12 spots in the final tournament, with Morocco serving as the host nation.
Ghana, along with South Africa, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Cameroon, will skip the first round due to their high FIFA rankings.
Consequently, Ghana will begin their qualification journey in the second round, where they will meet the winner of the Rwanda vs. Egypt match.
The qualification process will consist of two rounds of home-and-away fixtures, creating crucial and exciting matchups.
The first round will take place from February 17 to 26, 2025, and the second round will occur from October 20 to 28, 2025.
This marks the third consecutive time Morocco will host Africa’s premier women’s football competition.
