Bernard Kojo Ankrah Arrested For Alleged Murder Of Partner

Police have taken Bernard Kojo Ankrah into custody for the alleged murder of his partner, Jones Carlos Rodrigues Da Silva, in Takoradi after a dispute over a payment of thirty thousand cedis for a sexual encounter. 

Reports indicate that Ankrah revealed the two had been in a relationship, meeting regularly in Accra. After agreeing on the payment, Rodrigues Da Silva allegedly reduced the amount to twenty thousand cedis, sparking a confrontation. 

Ankrah claims Rodrigues Da Silva threatened him with a knife, leading to a struggle in which Ankrah overpowered him, resulting in Rodrigues Da Silva’s death. 

Following the incident, Ankrah fled the scene with the deceased’s phone and vehicle. Police, alerted to the crime, tracked Ankrah down and arrested him on October 17, 2024.

He was arraign before the Takoradi District Court on October 21, 2024, and remanded in custody by Her Worship Catherine Obiri Addo.

The incident occurred on October 12, 2024, at Rodrigues Da Silva’s residence in Takoradi.
