Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has criticised Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s visits to Christian churches and traditional shrines for his defeat in the 2024 presidential election.
In a viral video, Manu argued that these actions likely alienated Bawumia’s Muslim supporters, who may have viewed his outreach to other religious groups as a betrayal.
He emphasised the strong religious loyalty of Muslim voters and suggested that this perceived disconnect drove many to support John Dramani Mahama, who secured a decisive victory.
Additionally, Manu labelled these visits a strategic mistake, claiming they left many Muslim voters feeling abandoned and disconnected from Bawumia.
During his campaign, Dr. Bawumia made notable visits to Christian churches and traditional shrines.
