Bawumia Pledges Car Import Duty Waiver For Doctors And Nurses

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to restore the car import duty waiver for doctors and nurses if elected.

During his Greater Accra Regional Tour at the Teshie Nursing and Midwifery Training School, Bawumia told the audience,

“The former President removed the car import duty waiver, but I will reinstate it for all nurses. I will also seek to improve conditions for those stationed in rural areas.”

Further, Dr Bawumia also addressed the delays in trainee nurses’ allowance payments, stating that he is working with the Ministry of Health to resolve these issues.
