Comedian DKB, whose real name is Derrick Kobina Bonney, defended former President John Dramani Mahama’s proposal for a 24-hour policy in Ghana.
During an interview, DKB argued that venues operating around the clock, such as bars, lounges, and nightclubs, are common worldwide.
He cited examples like Las Vegas, Liverpool, and Montreal to support his point. Despite some scepticism about the policy’s practicality, DKB maintained that it is a feasible idea already in effect in many places.
Further,he acknowledged that different countries have unique circumstances but pointed out that Ghana often looks to other nations as models, particularly for policies like tax increases.
“When they want to raise taxes, they compare us to these same Western countries. They use these countries as benchmarks. So Mahama’s policy is an already practices elsewhere.”
