Kumawood movie icons Big Akwess, Christiana Awuni, and Okomfo Kolege have revealed that their support for John Mahama in the 2024 election is influence by a genuine desire for change.
In an interview on *Daybreak Hitz*, they shared that their backing of Mahama, as well as their opposition to the Akufo-Addo administration, stemmed from frustrations over unmet promises, particularly regarding the creative arts industry.
Christiana Awuni stressed that her advocacy stems from the need for practical solutions to the challenges facing the film industry.
“People think we supported the NDC out of selfishness, but that’s not the case. We did this for Ghana.”
Big Akwess further emphasizes his commitment to Mahama, explaining that their collective support stems from a shared vision of a government capable of addressing the challenges faced by both the creative sector and the broader youth population.
