“Baba Sadiq And Father Inspire My MP Candidacy”-Mark Okraku

Written by Sarah Boye

Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, revealed that Baba Sadiq and his father played a significant role in his decision to run for Member of Parliament in the Ayensuano constituency.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Mark admitted he initially had no interest in becoming a legislator, recalling that he had stated as much during a past vetting session.

However, Mark explained that his outlook shifted when Sadiq’s father, a former NPP chairman in Ayensuano, encouraged him to consider the position. Mark shared that Sadiq called him, and his father offered guidance, urging him to run.

Mark credited Sadiq with sparking his political journey, saying,

“It’s not like I tasted power… it started here.”
