Bullgod Speaks Out: Why Efya and R2Bees Can’t Join Wizkid on International Stages

Written by admin

Artiste manager and entertainment pundit, Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, recently took to Facebook to express his dissatisfaction with Ghanaian music duo R2Bees and songstress Efya for missing out on opportunities to share the international spotlight with Nigerian music star, Wizkid. Bullgod questioned why the Ghanaian artists often spend time with Wizkid during his visits to Ghana but fail to join him on international stages to showcase their talents to the world.

Bullgod’s Facebook post on Saturday, July 29, emphasized the importance of Ghanaian musicians leveraging international platforms to promote their craft and gain global recognition. He expressed his concern over the missed chance for Ghana to make a mark at the 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London during Wizkid’s “More Love, Less Ego” concert. Nigerian music and artists, he pointed out, had once again elevated their relevance on the international stage through Wizkid’s sold-out performance.

Notably, Wizkid’s feat at the Tottenham Stadium marked him as the first African artiste to achieve such a milestone. It came on the heels of Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy’s historic achievement in selling out the 80,000-capacity Olympics stadium in London.

Bullgod’s sentiments underscore the need for Ghanaian artists to capitalize on international opportunities to expand their fanbase, build their brands, and gain exposure beyond their home country. With the increasing globalization of the music industry, showcasing talent on prestigious international stages is essential for gaining international recognition and breaking into new markets.

R2Bees and Efya, two highly talented acts in Ghana’s music scene, have already shown their chemistry and camaraderie with Wizkid during his visits to Ghana. However, Bullgod’s disappointment suggests that they are not fully maximizing their potential by failing to accompany the Nigerian star on his international tours.

The dynamics of the music industry in Africa have seen Nigerian artists, especially Wizkid and Burna Boy, rise to prominence and claim their spots on the global stage. They have successfully collaborated with international stars and embarked on world tours, earning them widespread recognition and accolades.

For Ghanaian artists like R2Bees and Efya, the challenge lies in breaking through the barriers that may prevent them from accessing similar international platforms. Collaborations with established global artists and participation in international tours are crucial steps in achieving this goal.

Artists and their managers in Ghana should view the success stories of Nigerian musicians as sources of inspiration and motivation to work harder and seek international exposure actively. It is essential for the Ghanaian music industry to foster connections with international partners and promoters to facilitate opportunities for its artists on the global stage.
