Elorm Ababio, often known as Ama Governor, is a renowned YouTuber from Ghana who has been denied admission to the bar a second time.
She won’t participate in the ceremony to formally enter the profession, which is scheduled on Friday, October 20, 2023, as a result.
The news was released in a letter addressed to the Ama Governor and signed by Justice Cyra Pamela Koranteng (JA), the judicial secretary.
The letter stated that the General Legal Council (GLC) issued the directive.
“Your application to be admitted to the bar was denied in the General Legal Council meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, due to factors identified in your prior public behaviour.
After the enrolment ceremony on 20 October 2023, “you may complete appropriate forms for application to be called to the bar any time there is a scheduled enrolment,” the letter stated.
Despite successfully completing the professional law curriculum, passing her tests and scaling the interview, the law student’s call to the bar was initially delayed in 2022.
This came after the GLC claimed to have received a complaint from a “concerned citizen” who claimed that she “lacks good character.”
However, the disgruntled student claimed GLC was unfair and claimed she was not notified of the precise charges or claims of wrongdoing made against her.
However, the GLC at the bar conference in September 2023 declared she was being evaluated by a committee and had been given the go-ahead to start applying to be admitted to the bar for the sessions in October and November 2023.
