The outgoing Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, swore in Alexander Afenyo-Markin as the new Board Chair of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
In a brief ceremony, Dr. Prempeh officially inaugurated Afenyo-Markin following his appointment by President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday.
Afenyo-Markin in his speech, also emphasized the importance of tackling the challenges facing the power distributor.
Mr Markin acknowledged the government’s significant progress in electricity provision but noted that much work remains.
He committed to continuing the path of thoughtful reform and innovation.
