President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has inaugurated 320 new housing units for the Police Service in Tesano, Accra, to enhance the welfare of Ghana’s security personnel.
During the ceremony, he congratulated Commissioner of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno on his promotion to Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations and expressed confidence in Yohuno’s commitment to an effective police service.
Additionally, Akuffo-Addo made known the the event fulfilled a vision from first term in 2018. He said
“The Security Services Housing Project provides decent housing for the country’s security forces.These 320 housing units symbolise our commitment to ensuring that those who risk their lives to protect us have a safe and comfortable place to call home,”
Further, Akuffo-Addo highlighted the importance of adequate housing, noting that proper accommodation boosts police officers’ morale and effectiveness.
He stressed that a well-housed police force is more motivated and productive. By providing these new units, the government aims to let officers focus on their crucial duties without the concern of poor living conditions.
This initiative reflects the Akufo-Addo administration’s commitment to solving housing issues within the security services and its broader goal of ensuring that all Ghanaians have access to decent and affordable housing.
