President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has downplayed the controversies surrounding the sale of a 60 percent stake in four SSNIT-owned hotels to Rock City Hotels.
At the 12th quadrennial delegates conference of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) on August 20, Akufo-Addo stressed that SSNIT is working actively to ensure profitability and expand its operations.
He highlighted SSNIT’s recent success, which resulted in a GHC230 million profit, and argued that this achievement should reassure organised labour and provide perspective on the controversy surrounding the trust’s efforts to sell non-performing hotel assets.
The President also advised the public to exercise caution in discussions about SSNIT’s assets.
