President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has defended his decision of appointing 16 new Court of Appeal judges, emphasizing their addition as crucial to meet the current demands and conditions facing the judiciary.
He announced this expansion during the swearing-in ceremony at Jubilee House to tackle the issues of a congested court system. Thus, aims to speed up justice delivery and reduce case backlogs
Akuffo-Addo emphasised that increasing the number of judges is crucial for enhancing the judiciary’s efficiency and effectiveness.
Additionally, he revealed that the Chief Justice, supported by the Judicial Council, plans to establish permanent Court of Appeal panels in five locations across the country.
