President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo assured the international community that Ghana will conduct its upcoming general elections freely, fairly, and transparently.
In his address at the annual UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday, he emphasized Ghana’s commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law. He outlined measures to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, stating,
“As my presidency nears its conclusion, I assure this assembly that the 2024 elections in Ghana will be free, fair, and transparent. Ghanaians have demonstrated their commitment to democracy for over three decades and will not compromise it. The Electoral Commission, supported by Ghana’s security services, is ready to respect the will of the Ghanaian people.”
