President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo announced that the ongoing Agenda 111 hospitals initiative will create approximately 67,635 jobs for Ghanaians.
During the commissioning of the Adansi North District Hospital in the Ashanti Region on July 17, 2024, he highlighted that local Ghanaian contractors are managing these construction projects, generating both direct and indirect employment opportunities.
He noted that each construction site typically employs around 120 workers. Once completed, district hospitals will hire an average of 549 staff, regional hospitals 1,343, and psychiatric hospitals 947.
“The completion of the Adansi North District Hospital demonstrates our commitment to providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities across the nation. Local Ghanaian contractors are undertaking these projects, creating numerous direct and indirect job opportunities for Ghanaians.
Each construction site employs an average of 120 workers, and upon completion, district hospitals will employ 549 people, regional hospitals 1,343, and psychiatric hospitals 947. Altogether, the Agenda 111 hospitals will create jobs for 67,635 people,” President Akufo-Addo stated.
He also mentioned similar projects completed in Kumawu, Fomena, and Takoradi.
