Afenyo-Markin Announces Recall Of Parliament On October 23

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has announced plans to recall Parliament on Wednesday, October 23, in response to Speaker Alban Bagbin’s decision to adjourn the House indefinitely.

Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Tuesday, October 22, Afenyo-Markin voiced his concerns, accusing the Speaker of aligning with National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs in an attempt to disrupt parliamentary proceedings and harm the nation’s economy.

Further, he emphasize that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is faithful to countering these efforts to ensure that government business continues smoothly. “

“Tomorrow, God willing, the Majority will initiate the recall of Parliament because the Speaker’s actions are obstructing parliamentary work and threatening the economy,” Afenyo-Markin stated,

Additionally, Afenyo- Marked explain Bagbin had adjourned the House indefinitely after a disagreement over which caucus should occupy the majority side.
