AFCON in 2023: I think Black Stars can make it to the Finals, Former Ghana Coach Kwasi Appiah

Written by Louis

Kwasi Appiah, a former coach of Ghana, expressed his confidence that the Black Stars will be able to get to the Africa Cup of Nations final in Ivory Coast in 2023. The last time Ghana won the competition was in Libya 42 years ago, and as the competition gets underway in 9 days, there is not much hope among Ghanaians.

The now-Sudan head coach thinks the club can surprise people despite their dismal recent record as four-time African champions. As you can see, there are instances when the squad surprises Ghana when the people there underestimate them. And it has occurred a great deal of times,” Appiah told Sienu TV.

“Considering the calibre of the players, I believe they are capable of doing extremely well.” They can make it to the final, in my opinion. The Black Stars of Chris Hughton are located in Kumasi, where they are getting ready for the 34th AFCON, which will take place in Ivory Coast. On Sunday, January 14, 2024, Ghana is scheduled to begin its group stage campaign against Cape Verde.

The Black Stars’ second group game against Egypt will take place in four days, and on January 22, they will play record-holder Egypt. On January 22, they will play Mozambique to conclude the group.
