In their last group match at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton says his players know what needs to be done to secure the desired outcome.
After dropping their opening two games, Ghana will play Mozambique on Monday night in an attempt to win their first three points of the competition.
In their first match, the Black Stars were defeated by Cape Verde; in their second match, they twice blew a lead to tie with Egypt.
Ghana is down one point going into the final round of matches, and a victory might put them in a stronger position to advance to the competition’s next round. This is due to the tie against the Pharaohs.
Hughton spoke to the media prior to Monday’s match and said: “The players know what it will take to get a result. There are no easy games in this tournament
“We have to be physically and mentally prepared for this.”
Ghana would move up to second place with a win and four points, depending on the outcome of the Egypt vs. Cape Verde match.
