Wednesday afternoon marked the Black Stars’ arrival in Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Ghanaian team, dressed in white kaftans, left Kumasi and smashed the customary kente upon landing at the airport.
Upon landing at the nation’s capital, all 27 players and the technical crew were observed wearing traditional kente and slippers.
Following a farewell dinner on Tuesday, Chris Hughton’s team concluded their preparations and departed Ghana early the next morning.
Group B includes Ghana, Egypt, Mozambique, and Cape Verde. On Sunday, January 14, the Black Stars will play their first game against Cape Verde.
