Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has called for calm amid ongoing rites disputes in Teshie.
During his tour of traditional councils in Accra Titus-Glover encountered disruptions at the Teshie Traditional Council. The minister promised to address the situation after receiving a security briefing and urged residents to stay calm and act peacefully.
“When we arrived, I learnt about recent shooting incidents in town. We decided to hold the presentations at the assembly for safety reasons, as people were reluctant to come out due to safety concerns.
“I am here to get a full briefing from the regional commander. So far, we have not received reports of injuries or fatalities.
I hope we can avoid such outcomes. I have urged the traditional council and other groups to promote unity.
He further urge the people of Teshie to embrace peace and assured residents of resolve these issues, which have significantly hindered Teshie’s development.
