Accra Metropolitan Assembly Announces Funding For 12 Projects

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has announced the funding of 12 projects through the Accra Youth Climate Action Fund (AYCAF) initiative.

In a press statement,the projects funded include youth-led recycling and waste reduction programmes, municipal solid waste (MSW) source separation in Jamestown, climate change education in local governance, the plastic footprint reduction project (PFRP), and mangrove restoration for coastal protection and urban greening.

Additional funded projects are sustainable climate financing initiatives, a Green Future awareness campaign, Project Ecomakola, Clean Accra’s source separation of waste, the Green Ambassadors programme, youth empowerment in climate resilience, and the Youth Eco Power project.

Moreover, AYCAF provides young people with the resources and support needed to tackle environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.

By fostering youth-led initiatives, the fund aims to harness the younger generation’s creativity and energy to make a positive impact on the community and the environment.
