The Accra High Court has dismissed a submission of no case motion filed by founder of the now-defunct Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM1.
According to reports, Menzgold are on trial for allegedly defrauding the public of about GH¢340 million during the company’s operations, which purportedly involved gold buying.
In a detailed ruling spanning nearly 110 pages, Justice Ernest Owusu-Dapaah concluded that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against the accused, necessitating a defense.
Consequently, the court has called on NAM1 to respond to the charges, though he retains the right to choose whether or not to testify.
