Nana Asiamah Hanson, a contentious entertainment figure also known as Bulldog, was fined GH48,000 for making threats against President Akufo-Addo on the Menzgold Saga.
Bulldog was brought before a judge in 2021 after saying in an interview on UTV that President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo would not complete his four-year term if Menzgold clients weren’t paid.
The well-known artist manager was accused of disturbing the peace and rude behavior.
Bulldog pleaded not guilty to the allegation throughout the two-year trial, adamant that he had never intended to threaten the president. He asserted that his request to the President was made only in the interest of Menzgold’s clients.
But the presiding Judge, Justice Evelyn Asamoah, in her judgment noted that the statement was not an appeal considering its gravity.
The artiste manager is expected to pay the fine of GH¢48,000 or in default spend 40 days in prison.
