At Aburi Girls Senior High School in the Eastern Region, a first-year female student sadly passed away.
The student passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, after complaining of severe stomach aches.
The student was allegedly refused medical assistance by the school nurse because she was allegedly seen pretending to be ill on several occasions, according to a source inside the school.
She had unfortunately already passed away before she was transported to the hospital.
Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital has received the body of the deceased student and is awaiting an autopsy.
Following the tragic news, her parents, who is said to be living overseas, were notified and made their way to Ghana.
Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death in great detail, working with the school administration to do so.
