A 55-year-old woman has allegedly stabbed her mother to death at Abuakwa Asonomaso, Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred following accusations by a pastor that the 76-year-old mother, Afia Sarpomaah, was a witch.
Reports indicate that after the stabbing, the woman attempted suicide by drinking weedicide but was apprehended by residents and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The residents then handed her over to the police, where she confessed to the crime.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at Afari Hospital Mortuary pending
