The Gomoa Dominase District Police Command has apprehended 18-year-old Fulani herdsman Umaru Abdulai for allegedly stealing 20 cows worth GHS 200,000 from the Dominase Onion Market in the Central Region.
Police sources indicate that Abdulai and his accomplices stole the cows from various individuals and sold them to butchers at Awutu Bawjiase.
They used part of the proceeds to buy more cows from the northern region and also adding them to his father’s herd despite owning over 1,000 cows.
The arrest followed a tip-off from a vigilant farmer who noticed suspicious activities and alerted a nearby police officer. However, accomplices remain at large.
Affected individuals, called on the government to address the disturbances caused by Fulani herdsmen in the area.
